About Baltimore Century Media and Founder Shy Mukerjee
ABOUT BALTIMORE CENTURY MEDIA, LLC
BALTIMORE CENTURY MEDIA, founded in 2023, funds and assists the creation of artwork across a range of disciplines from a variety of artists.
We also sell a small number of limited-edition original works from founder Shy Mukerjee each year to keep this fund full.
Decades before the company existed, "BALTIMORE CENTURY" was coined as a term to spread a message to creatives & conservationists, the leaders of our community, businesses, and non-profits, and to everyone pursuing quick fixes to the myriad problems that Baltimore faces.
BALTIMORE CENTURY seeks to remind people that the best change is often slow and holistic, in contrast to the single-minded do-or-die demands of the past. The real changes we seek in Baltimore, changes to the very root of the city, will take a century to see through.
But we will see them through. The 21st century is BALTIMORE CENTURY.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER: SHY MUKERJEE

Shy Mukerjee is an Emmy Award-Winning Interactive Media Producer and Artist based in Baltimore, MD. You might know him as "they guy with the pink glasses." Many people do.
With almost 15 years of production experience, Shy has produced live radio shows on NPR and Sirius XM, a variety of tech and lifestyle podcasts, TV segments for the TODAY Show, live and pre-recorded web shows, live events, social media experiences and so much more.

Mario Armstrong's Never Settle Show, which Shy co-created and co-executive produced, won the New York Emmy Award for Best Interactivity in 2017.

Before the Show, Shy created content for social media and wrote and edited blog posts for years. The highlight of that time was getting to meet the creator of Mario, Luigi, Link and Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto. Miyamoto-san sat with Shy for a full hour of interviews. They also played Luigi's Mansion together. Video footage from this interview is set to finally release in 2026.

Shy is a 2009 graduate of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University. He holds a BA in Writing and Literature.
As part of his work at Naropa, in 2009 he co-directed, shot and edited the short documentary film, The Poets of Skid Row. This film highlighted the lives, work and surroundings of some of the best poets living on and around Skid Row in Los Angeles, including Dr. Mongo and Arnal Kennedy. At this time, Shy also typeset and co-published the first ever collection of Arnal's collected poetry, YOU WOKE ME IN THE DARK. This collection remains available today, and all proceeds go directly to Arnal.

In 2007 he self-hosted a gallery show at his Calvert St. studio in Baltimore for his then pet project, Last Night's Party Boy Hat. The culmination of years of photography work and collaborations with Baltimore artists, the show was a huge success.
Shy has also served on the boards of Baltimore's Annex Theater (2 year term) and Le Mondo (2 year term), both ambitious non-profits with strong visions for Baltimore's artistic future. He is always looking to serve on a board like that again.

As an artist, Shy aims to embrace the spirit of Baltimore Century by making beautiful things with love, and then releasing them into our city and the world.
He sells a small number of limited edition artworks each year to fund this vision, which you can buy on this website.
Shy also posts his work on Instagram and you can follow him @shymu.
